What is the most effective way of ensuring that your school website complies with the School Information (England) Regulations 2012?
The government states that "every maintained school must publish specific information on its website to comply with The School Information (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2012."
Yet many schools are discovering that they are no longer compliant as they struggle to maintain the website and to keep content up-to-date due to a lack of time and/or IT knowledge.
It is therefore important that your school's website can be updated quickly and easily and that it has built in tools and controls to reduce the amount of time spent on maintenance of the site. This also makes it possible for teachers and office staff, even those with the most basic of IT knowledge, to take on some of the responsibility for updating sections of the website.
But a website is possibly a school's most powerful PR tool and its sole purpose should not be to comply with the requirements set out by the government, but rather to impress Ofsted, to provide information for current parents, and to attract prospective parents.
